Electric Housing will advance sustainable middle-scale housing by providing consulting services to public agencies, non-profit developers, builders, and small-scale developers. 

Our Vision

All cities and towns will create robust opportunities for small-scale developers to build sustainable missing middle housing that adds density while improving housing construction until net-zero infill is the new norm. 

Meet the Team

  • Jim is Principal at Electric Housing, a private consulting firm that supports developers and cities who want to encourage small-scale real estate development in their community. This practice builds upon work he started as Executive Director and Co-Founder of Incremental Development Alliance. Prior to starting IncDev, Jim was the Executive Director at Strong Towns.

    His work spans the country in the northern climate zones from the inland Northeast, Midwest and Mountain West from with particular long term engagements with the cities of Kalamazoo, MI and South Bend, IN.

    Jim has an undergraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan, and over 15 years of experience in the design and construction industries in Los Angeles, Denver and Minneapolis. Previously, Jim worked as a project manager in architecture firms where he planned, designed and executed private sector multi-family and public sector buildings.

  • Faith provides input on strategic communications and knowledge of housing finance for Electric Housing.

    Separate from Electric Housing, Faith also works for a nonprofit affordable housing developer in Minneapolis, where she has closed or is currently working on multi-family buildings totaling over $100 million in development costs and over 300 units. She has overseen several construction phase and project lease ups in close consultation with the property management team and service providers.

    Born and raised in South Minneapolis, Faith has a background in public private partnership management, urban design and construction management. She received an undergraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Minnesota and graduate degree in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina. She was also a Fulbright Scholar at the Technical University of Berlin where she studied sustainable neighborhoods.
